Tourism Places in Sukabumi
Sukabumi is a region that located in the province of West Java, Indonesia. Sukabumi is devided into two areas, city and regency. Both of them has a great potential in the tourism sector due to its extensive area, natural wealth, and the development of community knowledge. Sukabumi always present its undenialable natural beauty, Various tourist attraction can be found here such as natural tourism, cultural tourism, and culinary tourism.
Natural tourism is one of the tourist areas that are often found in Sukabumi especially in Sukabumi district. Many kinds of natural-themed tourist attraction has become a fame of Sukabumi, one of them is in Ciletuh Geopark area which is recognized as a global geopark by UNESCO because of its extraordinary geological heritage. Ciletuh Geopark area offer a lot of magnificent place that are located close each other. As a result, doing a road trip around Ciletuh Geopark is an interesting activity that can attract many travelers. They can trip to many beach like Palangpang beach, this beach is quiet extensive and long it is perfect for organizing mass activities such as the marine cultural festival or something else. Near of Palangpang beach there is Darma Peak, this peak is the one of the highest plains in Ciletuh Geopark area. Ciletuh Geopark has many kind of waterfall too, there is Awang waterfall, Cimarinjung Waterfall, Sodong Waterfall, and many more.
Beside of the natural tourism in sukabumi, we can dive into Sukabumi local wisdom. There is a traditional village in Sukabumi called Kasepuhan Ciptagelar, this traditional village is located in Sirnaresmi Cisolok Sukabumi Regency. Under the foot of Mount Halimun, can become an anti-mainstream tourist destination in Sukabumi for local culture lovers. You can see the local wisdom in Ciptagelar looks like from the people who still use the Sundanese custom and tradition. Not only learn about their ‘way of life’ of the people in there but also we can see their house with the unique of its structure shape. If you are lucky, you can also take part in their traditional ceremonies that are held on certain days.
Sukabumi also offers variety of culinary destination that you can try and very easy to find it. The most popular culinary tourism in sukabumi is mochi and bandros atta. Mochi is the one that tourist are looking in Sukabumi, there are many Mochi factory but the famous one is Mochi Kaswari which located in the middle of Sukabumi City, so it is very easy to reach and affordable. The popularity of Mochi is competing with Bandros Atta that still popular among the people even Bandros is an old food. Located in the middle of the city on Gudang street, Bandros Atta offers the sensation of eating a warm Bandros with a busy highway.
